How averages are calculated

For metrics shown as a daily average, Studio Era calculates the average using only days that contain recorded data.

For example, if you have step data for three days in the selected period, your step average is calculated from those three days. Days without step data are not included in that average.

Trends updates as new information is recorded in Studio Era. For Steps, this can include step data synced into Studio Era from a connected step tracker.

What Compliance means

Compliance shows how your progress compares with the applicable Studio Era target.

The calculation depends on the category:

  • Workout: compares the number of completed workouts with your workout target for the period.

  • Nutrition: compares your average logged calories with your recommended calorie target.

  • Water: compares your average water intake on days with entries with your water target.

  • Steps: compares your average steps on days with recorded step data with your step target.

Compliance is different from Days of success. A category can show high Compliance even when every individual day does not qualify as a successful day.

What counts as a successful day

A Day of success is based on a specific rule for each category.

  • Workout: a day counts as successful when you complete at least one workout. Workout length and energy burned do not affect whether the day counts as successful.

  • Nutrition: a day counts as successful when your total logged calories fall between 90% and 110% of your recommended calorie target. Protein, fat, and carb targets do not affect whether the day counts as successful.

  • Water: a day counts as successful when you reach your water target.

  • Steps: a day counts as successful when you reach your step target.

These rules describe how Studio Era calculates Trends. Your targets and the information shown in the app are separate from individualized nutrition or health guidance.

How streaks work

A streak is the number of successful days you complete in a row.

If a day does not meet the success rule for that category, the streak ends. A new streak begins the next time consecutive successful days start again.

For Nutrition, Water, and Steps, remember that daily averages, Compliance, and Days of success measure different things. Your average summarizes recorded days, Compliance compares that average with your target, and a success day checks whether that individual day met the category's success rule.
