Yes, you can use Studio Era while breastfeeding. However, Studio Era does not provide a breastfeeding-specific calorie target or individualized postpartum nutrition or exercise guidance.
Breastfeeding can affect your nutrition and energy needs, and those needs can vary from person to person. Because of that, we don’t recommend automatically adding a fixed number of calories to the target shown in Studio Era.
If you’re breastfeeding, a qualified healthcare professional can help you determine what calorie intake, nutrition approach, and level of exercise are appropriate for you.
Using Studio Era for nutrition while breastfeeding
Once you know the nutrition guidance that is appropriate for you, you can use Studio Era’s nutrition tools to help you follow it.
Depending on what works best for you, you can:
choose from the meal plans available in Studio Era,
use the Food Diary to log the foods and meals you eat,
create and reuse your own foods and recipes, and
use the Meal Planner to organize what you plan to eat.
You do not need to follow a Studio Era meal plan in order to use the nutrition tools.
For more about the calorie and nutrition information shown in the app, see Understand your calorie and nutrition targets in Studio Era.
For help choosing or adjusting a meal plan, see Use, customize or change a meal plan.
Using Studio Era workouts while breastfeeding
You can also use Studio Era’s workout programs, challenges, and individual workouts while breastfeeding, as long as the type and level of exercise you’re doing are appropriate for you.
Studio Era workouts give you some flexibility to adjust things such as:
the weight you use,
your pace,
your range of motion, and
how much rest you take.
Some workouts may also include movement alternatives as part of the workout itself.
If you’re returning to exercise after pregnancy, recovering from delivery, or managing pelvic-floor, surgical, medical, or other postpartum considerations, follow the exercise guidance provided by your healthcare professional.
Check with your healthcare provider
Studio Era provides general fitness and nutrition education, not individualized medical or postpartum care.
If you’re breastfeeding, pregnant, recently postpartum, taking medication, or managing a medical condition, a qualified healthcare professional such as your doctor, registered dietitian, midwife, or lactation professional can help you decide what nutrition and exercise approach is appropriate for your individual situation.
Once you know what guidance you’re following, Studio Era’s tools can help you put that plan into practice.
